Prescriptions
How to order a repeat prescription
- Online
- In person – leave the computer printed request slip in the box at reception
- Via a pharmacy – make arrangements with a nominated community pharmacist
Telephone requests will only be accepted from the housebound.
Collection remains the patient’s responsibility. Please ensure you do not run out of important medication.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Collecting your Prescription
Please allow 2-3 working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account. Requests can be put in 4 working days before you are due to run out. Early requests will be rejected. Please ask for a New Patient Information Booklet at Reception for details of our medication process.
Over the Counter Medications
In December 2017, NHS England passed new regulation limiting the prescription of medicines that are available to buy over the counter. These rules also apply to people who usually receive their prescriptions for free.
Please see the NHS leaflet for more information.
