🦠 World AMR Awareness Week – 18–24 November 2025

Theme: Act Now: Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future

This coming week, Chorlton Family Practice is joining the global campaign to raise awareness of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) β€” when bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites change so that the medicines we use to treat them become less effective.

When antibiotics stop working, routine infections and everyday treatments can become much more difficult.
The good news? We can all play a part in keeping antibiotics working. πŸ’™

πŸ’Š What YOU Can Do

βœ… Only take antibiotics when prescribed by a healthcare professional.
🚫 Don’t ask for antibiotics if your GP says they’re not needed β€” they don’t work for viruses such as colds, coughs or flu.
πŸ’¬ Take antibiotics exactly as directed β€” and always finish the full course.
🀲 Prevent infections through regular handwashing and keeping up to date with vaccinations.
πŸ‘ͺ Share the message with friends and family β€” we all have a role in protecting antibiotics for the future.

πŸ’™ Our Commitment at CFP

At Chorlton Family Practice, we:

  • Prescribe antibiotics responsibly and only when clinically appropriate.
  • Review prescriptions to ensure they follow the latest national guidance.
  • Support our patients with clear advice and information when antibiotics are not needed.

Together, we can help keep antibiotics working β€” for ourselves, our families, and future generations.
