Be Well is your new local support service in North Manchester.
How you feel can depend on what is going on in your life, this is where we can help you. Be Well can link you to social and physical activities in your community that can improve your life.
Our staff can offer free, confidential advice to give you the tools to help you feel good again. We will help you to steer yourself through some of the difficulties you can experience when you’re having a hard time.
What you can expect from Be Well
You can self refer or be referred from your GP. we will then contact you within five working days to arrange your first meeting. All of our staff will be based within GP surgeries or local community venues and we can meet at a time and a place which is convenient for you.
In your first session we can have a chat about what your needs are and work out a plan just for you. Depending on what you need, we can provide you with a number of one-to-one sessions, providing you with help, encouragement, advice and tips on how to achieve your goals and Be Well.
What kind of support can you access:
- Feeling happier or less stressed
- Isolation, loneliness and friendship
- Physical health support, such as eating healthier food, exercising and drinking less alcohol
- Promoting positive mental health
- Supporting you to return to work after illness or unemployment
- Stopping smoking
We also have links with other agencies who can help, so if needed, we can refer you on to:
- Debt and money advice
- Drug and alcohol support
- Employment advice and guidance
- Housing support
Our key aim is to help you as much as we can so that you stay happy, healthy and build up your resilience. By accessing services as soon as possible, we can help you avoid circumstances becoming harder to manage.
